Dear Culinary Cellar Readers,
Surprise! It's Debbie's daughter, Kristina! Today I am writing an unexpected guest post here on my mom's blog. There have been some terrible storms on the Chicagoland area, and she and my dad have been without power for almost 24 hours.
Yuck! That means no A/C, an ever warming fridge, and, of course, no internet! Sometimes I wonder how she survived without these essentials back in the stone age. ;) (Hee hee, had to get a quick joke in there....she can't log on to erase it! Just teasing Momma!)
No worries about the Pillsbury Bake-Off story for tomorrow on "Winning Wednesdays." She uploaded that into the blog system last week and it is ready to post! Wait until you see the next Grand Prize winner...it's a good one!
In the meantime, feel free to check out my blog, "The Daily Dish" on www.BetterRecipes.com

Thanks fellow cookbook lovers,
Kristina
Hi Kristina,
ReplyDeleteThanks for filling in for your mom. Those storms (or their twins) are headed our way, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our power stays on. I'm trying to remember those prehistoric days you mentioned. I don't know how women our (as in me and your mom) age managed.
I'll take this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed your interview with Hubert Keller, who is one of my favorites. I made a version of the burgers from the video -- with bison and the shallot jam. Very, very good.
Hi MsZin! I just heard on Good Morning America that this is the 3rd largest power outage in Chicago history. Over 1 million people without power! (The equivalent of the entire population of Estonia!)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the Hubert Keller interview....that shallot jam sounded outstanding!
Hi! My power is back!! It's been a very long and hot two days. Thank you, Kristina, for the blog this day! You can guest anytime for me!
