Cranberry Drinks

After a busy Thanksgiving, relax with a festive cranberry drink.  I have two recipes today - one is a warm punch for a crowd for your upcoming holiday parties, and the other is just made for one.

Hot Cranberry Wassail

2-1/2 quarts cranberry juice
1 quart grape juice
2 cups water
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup light rum
1/4 cup orange-flavored liqueur

Orange slices, for garnish

Heat juices, water, and sugar in a Dutch oven to boiling.  Remove from heat; stir in rum and liqueur.  Pour into punch bowl and garnish with floating orange slices.  Serve hot.  Makes one gallon.

Cranberry Bog for One

2 ounces dry white vermouth
2 ounces club soda
1 ounce cranberry liqueur
2 ice cubes
Twist of orange peel

Mix vermouth, club soda, and cranberry liqueur.  Pour over ice cubes in 8-ounce cocktail glass.  Garnish with a twist of orange peel.  Makes one serving.
