When we first arrived yesterday, we had a late lunch at Rick Bayless's restaurant "Xoco," which features Mexican street food, tortas and caldos.
We had these incredible tortas with habanero dipping sauce. One of the fillings had homemade chorizo to die for, and the other was a flavorful pork belly.
The wood-burning stove made the bread so crispy!
This gorgeous copper pot is huge!!
Yum....
Double yum...
After our fabulous lunch, Kristina and I decided to do a little shopping on State Street. We took these photos for all of you who still miss Chicago's beloved Marshall Field's.
When Macy's took over Field's, it's a good thing they left the sign and clock or Chicagoans would have boycotted forever.
Come back later today or tonight for more fun stories and photos!!
SO jealous!!! I want one of those tortas...
ReplyDeleteThey were incredible, Angela! I am just about to write more of Day One, so come back a little later tonight to read!
