Curtis Stone Stories Part One - the Wild Party at Paris Club

This is the entryway into the Curtis Stone party at Paris Club in Chicago, one of the hottest places in town at the moment.  During his stay at the recent International Home and Housewares Show introducing his new line of kitchen items, Curtis threw a heck of an invitation-only party.  My daughter Kristina and I were lucky to attend, plus Kristina had an interview with Curtis earlier in the day at the show.  More on that in part two - plus a fun giveaway, so let's get back to the party.

When Kristina and I got out of the cab in front of the entrance, there was a large group of loud party-goers trying to get in, but were turned away.  They were disgruntled and unhappy, and were even more unhappy when we walked up to the bouncer, gave our name, he found it on the invitation list, and let us right in.  I won't repeat what the turned-away party-goers said...

Inside, the place was a little wild.  We looked around as the pulsating lights and music were in full swing.  We spotted Cat Cora, Gail Simmons, a couple Top Chefs, Hollywood super agents, and of course, Curtis, making the rounds in his chef apron.

Kristina and I somehow got lucky and found a place to sit right in front of a mirror with the following French quote, which means, I think,  Paris is always a good idea.

We enjoyed people-watching, and it definitely got interesting, especially after one female who had too much of something actually got up on a table in her 6-inch heels and danced.  And silly me thought that only happened in the movies.  Maybe she was one of the disgruntled party-goers out front who snuck in somehow.

As we were seated, one of waiters came up and handed us these little packages, which contained Curtis's delectable white chocolate-macadamia cookies.  To die for.  Apparently, Curtis made them himself for the party-goers.  Not sure if he actually did, but he was knee deep in dough.  I want that bowl.

After the party started to wind down, we decided to go out and hail a cab back to the hotel and get some sleep for another big day at the Housewares Show.  On the way out, everyone received something special from Curtis, but I'm not going to tell you what it is yet.  You'll have to come back to tomorrow's blog to find out, because guess what - someone is going to win it!
